Turkey

Cappadocia, a semi-arid region in central Turkey, is known for its distinctive ‘fairy chimneys,’ tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. Other notables sites include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes.

It features rock-face churches and massive underground cities like Derinkuyu and Kaymakli, which were used as havens by early Christians. Every morning at sunrise, hundreds of hot air balloons fill the sky, providing a spectacular view of the landscape.

Experiencing Cappadocia from above in a balloon or exploring its ancient caves on foot is truly a magical adventure unlike any other.
